Signed Geo. Essig and dated 1877 (lr); signed Geo. E. Essig, dated 1877 and inscribed 'The voyage nearly ended' on the reverse
Condition:
Wax lined. Frame rubbing. Light surface dirt. Narrow, fine 5'' vertical area of inpainting at extreme lower left, corresponds with frame rubbing. 1 1/2'' spot at upper left, very small scattered area in sky as well as a 2 1/2'' vertical area at center right edge. No visible inpainting in water. Inscription on the reverse appears to be transcribed after lining.
